NEW DELHI:
Rishabh Pant
or Sanju Samson?
Hardik Pandya
or Shivam Dube? Yuzvendra Chahal or Kuldeep Yadav? Team India captain Rohit Sharma is surely going to get a sweet headache when he picks the final eleven in their tournament opener of the
T20 World Cup
, to be held in the West Indies and USA.
India will kick off their T20 World Cup campaign against Ireland on June 5 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
On being asked about the team's combination, Rohit, who was addressing the media alongside chief
Ajit Agarkar
post India's T20 World Cup selection in Mumbai on Thursday, gave the answer in a humourous way.
"5 tareekh ko match hai, abhi bolke kya karunga? Abhi kyun jaanna hai aapko combination? (The match is on June 5. No point discussing that right now)," Rohit said.
Rohit also stated that the captaincy is nothing new to him.
"I was captain. Not being captain and then again captain. It's part of life. Not everything will go your way. It's been a great experience. Before in my life, I was also not captain and played under different captains," he said.
"It's nothing to me. I have always tried to do what's required as a player and I have tried to do that in the last 1 month," Rohit told reporters on his return to T20 captaincy," the Indian skipper said.
Rohit captained India in last year's ODI World Cup, guiding the team to the final, where the Men in Blue lost the title clash to Australia on home soil.
