Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with board examination students on January 29 during the seventh edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha. The event took place at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. PM Modi addressed various issues, including how students can handle pressure from themselves, parents, and family. He emphasised the importance of healthy competition among students and highlighted that a student's report card is not an invitation card for parents.
Here are five major highlights of Pariksha Pe Charcha 2024
1. How to handle pressure during an examination
During his address, PM Modi highlighted two types of pressure on students: self-imposed pressure from rigid plans leading to mental fatigue, and external pressure from parents, siblings, and teachers. He emphasised how teachers and family members can help students alleviate this burden.
Furthermore, he suggested that the art of handling pressure should be implemented gradually, not hastily. It requires a collective effort involving students, teachers, and parents.
2. Importance of healthy competition
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also emphasized the importance of healthy competition. He stated that in the absence of life challenges, life becomes uninspiring and demotivating. Modi added that competition and challenges serve as sources of inspiration.
Furthermore, PM Modi highlighted the value of having ambitious friends, describing them as a blessing. He encouraged students not to be overly concerned about their achievements but to focus on personal progress.
3. Role of teacher-student bonding is of paramount importance
PM Modi also emphasised the importance of the teacher-student bond. To alleviate exam stress, he suggests that teachers establish a positive connection with students from the beginning, creating a comfortable environment.
Encouraging teachers to go beyond the syllabus, PM Modi believes this approach enhances student confidence and enables them to correct even minor mistakes.
4. Students' report cards are not visiting cards for parents
Prime Minister Modi also urged parents to not boast or discuss their child's marks with others as it put pressure on children. He said that a student's report card is not a parent's visiting card.
"A lot of parents keep on giving examples of other children to their children. Parents should avoid doing these things," said PM Modi during his address.
5. Recharging our body and taking care of our health is important
PM Modi also advised students to cultivate the habit of spending time in the sunlight daily, emphasising its role in recharging the body. He encourages students to incorporate outdoor activities, such as reading in sunlight, into their routine for overall well-being.
Furthermore, he discussed the importance of physical health during exams, highlighting that a strong body is essential for enduring the three-hour exam duration. Drawing an analogy with charging a mobile phone, he urged students to recognise the need to recharge their bodies through proper care and maintenance.
