5 feared trapped as massive fire breaks out at glove factory in Maharashtra

At least five workers are feared to be trapped after a massive fire broke out in the wee hours of Sunday inside a hand glove manufacturing company in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.

"There are five workers trapped inside the building," a worker told news agency ANI.

As per officials, fire tenders immediately reached the spot and initiated a rescue operation to take out the individuals trapped inside the building.

"Efforts to bring the fire under control," an official said.

The workers said that the factory was closed at night, and that they were sleeping when the fire broke out.

The trapped workers are identified as Bhulla Shaikh (65), Kausar Shaikh (26), Iqbal Shaikh (26), and Magroof Shaikh (25).

"There were 10–15 people inside the building when the fire broke out. Some managed to escape, but others are still trapped inside," locals said.
