Happy birthday Mac! 40 years ago,
Apple
launched its first computer and it is still going strong. CEO
Tim Cook
says that today’s
Mac
lineup is the best in the history of the personal computers though it arguably may not be the the most important product in the company’s lineup.
“Mac changed everything when it was introduced 40 years ago, and through the years it has done so again and again and again.
Today’s Mac lineup is the best in the history of the personal computer, and it’s built on decades of revolutionary innovation. Happy birthday Mac!” Tim Cook said in a post on X.
Carl Pei says it's all ‘experience’
Replying to his post, Nothing CEO Carl Pei shared his experience of using a MacBook when he was in university. He said he was mocked by his classmate despite explaining about the experience that the PC provides.
“I remember getting a MacBook Pro in university, and being mocked by my classmate who claimed I overpaid for inferior specs compared to his Windows laptop.
I explained that it was about the experience. The metal chassis, no lid flex, and that big glass trackpad. Sadly all I got back was a blank stare.
Before that, the transparent iMac G3 design and playing Prince of Persia on the Macintosh left big impressions on me. What a journey...
Happy birthday 40th, Mac.”
