BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) --Three people were shot in the Bronx early Saturday morning, leaving one person dead, authorities said.
The shooting occurred inside an apartment building on East 203 Street at around 5:13 a.m., according to the NYPD. Police report that a 40-year-old woman and her two sons aged 8 and 16, were all shot and injured.
The mother was shot in the upper torso and was later declared dead at the hospital, authorities report. First responders transported the two boys to an area hospital for treatment.
Authorities are currently searching for the mother's boyfriend who is believed to be the perpetrator, according to police sources.
