NEWARK, N.J. (PIX11) -- Three buildings in Newark, New Jersey, have been deemed unsafe due to structural damage following Friday morning’s 4.8-magnitude earthquake, according to the Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé.
The buildings are located on Seventh Avenue, officials said.
No injuries have been reported. At least 10 families, including 25 adults and three children, have been relocated, officials said.
"The epicenter of the earthquake was more than 30 miles away," a statement from Fragé said. "All city buildings, including City Hall and recreation centers, are closed."
The city’s closures do not affect police and fire facilities or personnel.
Authorities are currently inspecting other buildings in Newark for any potential damages and power outages, officials said.
