Three men from Singaiyanpudur village in Coimbatore district died after their motorcycle hit a roadside tree. Veeramani, 33, lost control of the bike while riding back home with Prabhu, 33, and Karuppasamy, 29, as pillion riders.
COIMBATORE: Three persons travelling on a motorcycle died after the bike rider lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a roadside tree near Kinathukadavu in Coimbatore district in the early hours of Sunday.
The deceased were identified as M Veeramani, 33, C Prabhu, 33, and P Karuppasamy, 29, all from Singaiyanpudur village near Kinathukadavu in Coimbatore district.
Police said Veeramani worked in a PVC pipe manufacturing company, Prabhu was a machine operator in a private company, and Karuppasamy worked in a private company that refilled money at ATM centres.
The trio went to a bakery on a motorcycle around 12.45 am on Sunday. After having tea at the bakery, they were returning home on a motorcycle. Veeramani was riding the motorcycle belonging to his friend Prabhu, with Karuppasamy and Prabhu as pillion riders.
While travelling on the Kinathukadavu-Veerappagoundanur road, Veeramani lost control of the bike while approaching a curve, and the bike hit a roadside palm tree. The three persons were thrown from the vehicle and sustained severe head injuries.
Locals rushed them to the Pollachi govt hospital in ambulances, and the doctors declared them brought dead. The bodies were sent to the mortuary for postmortem.
Kinathukadavu police registered a case, and further investigation is ongoing.
