29th Annual Critics Choice Awards: Complete winners' list -LIVE UPDATES

1 year ago 33

The prestigious Critics Choice Awards is back to celebrate and honour Hollywood's best in film and television.
As the award show unfolds tonight, the films 'Barbie' and 'Oppenheimer' stand out as the frontrunners. While the Margot Robbie starrer is up for an impressive 18 nominations, outpacing its season-long rivals, 'Oppenheimer' and 'Poor Things', both securing 13 nominations.

Another notable contender, 'Killers of the Flower Moon', has also made a strong showing with 12 nominations in acting and technical awards.
Leading the pack on the small screen, 'The Morning Show' secures an impressive six nominations, closely followed by 'Succession' with five nods. Notably, 'Abbott Elementary', 'The Bear', 'Beef', 'Lessons In Chemistry', 'Loki', 'Reservation Dogs', and 'A Small Light' each boast four nominations each.

While the Critics Choice Awards share some common ground with other prestigious ceremonies such as the Golden Globes, SAG Awards, and the Emmys, they are known for throwing in a few curveballs. This year, nominations include unconventional picks like 'Bottoms' for Best Comedy on the film side and the recently cancelled HBO series 'Winning Time' for Best TV Drama.
In a fierce competition, Ramon Rodríguez, known for his role in 'Will Trent', faces off against heavyweight contenders in the Best Actor in a Drama Series category. The competition includes stars like Jeremy Strong and Kieran Culkin from 'Succession' and Pedro Pascal from 'The Last of Us'.

The show, airing on LionsgatePlay, is being hosted by Chelsea Handler for the second time in a row.
As the 29th annual Critics Choice Awards unfold, stay tuned to ETimes for the live updates.
