2 robbed man sitting on Central Park bench: NYPD

MIDTOWN, Manhattan (PIX11) --- Two suspects stole a man's phone and cash while he was sitting on a bench in Central Park Monday, according to the NYPD.

Officers responded to the incident at 59th Street and Center Drive in the park at around 9 p.m. The victim, 21, was sitting on a bench when a masked suspect snatched his phone and demanded he unlock it, police said. While he was giving the passcode, another suspect reached into the victim's pocket and took around $80, police said.

The suspects then ran off with the phone and money and were last seen heading toward 59th Street and Fifth Avenue, according to the NYPD. There have been no arrests.

The victim was not injured.
