NEW YORK (PIX11) – Two children were found safe after separate carjackings in New York City this week, according to the NYPD.
The first carjacking happened in Canarsie, Brooklyn on Saturday. A woman got into a car crash near Glenwood Road and Rockaway Parkway around 3 p.m. when the suspect got into her vehicle, police said.
The suspect drove away with the woman's 8-year-old daughter in the back seat. The child was later found safe inside the car on Howard Avenue, according to authorities.
Then, on Thanksgiving, a car on Macdonough Place in the Bronx was stolen with a 7-year-old boy inside around noon. The driver, a 34-year-old woman, told officers she was with her husband when a man stole her car, police said.
The car, with the woman's son inside, was later found near Tillotson and Wright avenues.
No arrests have been made in either carjacking.
