NEW DELHI: A
19-year-old girl
was found in a
critical condition
near east Delhi's Chilla village fire brigade office.
Police said that at 9 am, they got a PCR call about an injured girl lying on the roadside. “A passerby saw the girl and informed us after which a team from the police station rushed to the spot,” a police source said.
“The girl was found with injuries on her body and was unconscious.
She was immediately shifted to LBS Hospital,” the police source said.
She has been identified as a resident of Chilla village. Her parents have been contacted. After first-aid, she was sent to LNJP Hospital because of her critical condition. An officer said she was unfit for questioning. Police also found out that the girl works at an ayurvedic centre in east Delhi and was returning home when she may have been attacked. She had suffered multiple stab wounds on her body. “The victim also bore injuries on her face,” the officer said, adding that she may need surgeries.
A case under IPC section 307 (attempt to murder) has been registered. Police are reviewing CCTV footage of the area. “We are investigating several angles in the case, including attempted robbery, a possible attack by someone she knew, and whether she was dumped there,” the officer said. So far, no one has been arrested.
