The second day of Tamil Nadu’s mega bull-taming sport, Jallikattu, will be held in Palamedu on Tuesday. 1000 bulls and 700 bull tamers have been issued tokens to participate on the second day of the event in Madurai's Palamedu town.
Registration for the tokens was completed through an online process, and the bulls and tamers will be permitted to compete only after a final medical examination.
A two-tier police protection has been assigned to the Jallikattu holding spot, which also features a gallery for the public to view. 1500 policemen have been deployed for protection duty.
Following tradition, seven bulls from seven temples will be released first from Vadivasal, after which the remaining bulls will be released. The event is scheduled to commence at 7 am and conclude by 5 pm.
