NFL Insider Jeremy Fowler Slams Diontae Johnson For His Decision To Not Participate In The Match Against The Philadelphia Eagles
NFL Insider Jeremy Fowler wrote on X, “No other way around it: Diontae Johnson lit millions on fire. Was set to be a top-25 free agent before the issues in Baltimore." Fans of Johnson might agree with Fowler as Johnson was on his way to becoming a top player in the NFL and was raking in millions from the NFL. As per Spotrac, Johnson was earning $10 million but now all of that is gone since he decided not to participate in a match against the Philadelphia Eagles.
It had only been close to two months that Johnson was playing for the Baltimore Ravens as a wide receiver after being traded by the Carolina Panthers. Things for Johnson changed when suddenly on 4th December as the Baltimore Ravens were playing against the Philadelphia Eagles, Johnson refused to participate. Initially, the Baltimore Ravens did not provide many details about Johnson’s absence from the game.
Diontae Johnson Might Have New Opportunities In The Upcoming Week
But now the Baltimore Ravens have issued an official statement on this matter through their general manager Eric DeCosta. The statement reads as “We have made the difficult decision to suspend Diontae Johnson for our upcoming game against the New York Giants for conduct detrimental to the team. Diontae's suspension stems from refusing to enter our game against the Philadelphia Eagles. We will have no further comments on this matter going forward."
However, things are not too bad for Johnson as according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Johnson might just have a new team on Monday. There are two teams currently who are interested in taking in Johnson and these two teams are the Los Angeles Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs. These teams are looking for a competent wide receiver to strengthen their team and Johnson might just be the perfect player for these teams.

Things are pretty controversial for Johnson at the moment in the 2024 NFL season. While Johnson has already played for two teams this season, the Carolina Panthers and the Baltimore Ravens, being let go of by the Ravens does make a negative mark on his career. The reason for his refusal to participate in the Week 13 match against the Philadelphia Eagles remains unknown and has not been made public yet. However, one cannot deny NFL Insider Jeremy Fowler’s insights into the money and the opportunities Johnson lost for a decision of his that has the potential to change his whole career.
