NEW YORK (PIX11) -- New York City's iconic dollar slice will be making a comeback on Thursday thanks to Slice Out Hunger's Dollar Pizza Party.

Hosted by St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Manhattan's Soho neighborhood, pizza fanatics will be able to enjoy pizza slices from several local eateries for just a buck.

New skyscraper planned for Midtown Manhattan, mayor says

Who is hosting:

Church of St. Anthony of Padua at 155 Sullivan St. in Manhattan.

How it works:

There are no tickets and no door charges. You show up with money and exchange singles for slices, drinks and desserts. You can load up a pizza box with pizza (limit of 10 slices, one pizza per restaurant. All exits are final).

When it starts:

Doors open at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Why it's happening:

You'll be happy to know that chowing down on cheese, pepperoni, buffalo, and Sicilian slices will all benefit a good cause. All proceeds support Pie it Forward, an organization dedicated to feeding pizza to hungry eaters at local food pantries across the United States. Started by Slice Out Hunger in 2018, the organization believes everybody is important, everybody deserves human services and everyone loves pizza.
