WILLIAMSBRIDGE, The Bronx (PIX11) – A woman was killed and three others were displaced following a fire at a Bronx home early Tuesday morning, according to the NYPD.

The fire broke out at 1126 East 212th St. in Williamsbridge around 1:57 a.m., police said. A 38-year-old woman was found unconscious and unresponsive, and she was pronounced dead at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, according to authorities.

Neighbors told PIX11 News that the home was occupied by squatters and they've called officials multiple times to complain about noise and a dog that was kept outside for hours at a time.

The house was about to go into foreclosure, neighbors claimed. There were five complaints filed with the Department of Buildings in connection to the home, records show, but none were about squatters.
